Dentures: the pros and cons
Partial or full dentures are the most cost effective way of replacing lost teeth. They will help you to eat properly and will give a reasonably good cosmetic effect, although the clips used to anchor the denture may show when you smile. Dentures might be a solution if your missing teeth are at the back of your mouth.
While many people find dentures comfortable to wear, some do struggle. Dentures can rub, feel bulky and can move. Dentures moving in your mouth can become an increasing problem after a number of years, as the bony ridge supporting the dentures gradually changes shape and becomes flatter.

A dental bridge is made by fixing crowns on teeth either side of the gap and fixing a false tooth in the space. They are permanently fixed in place, and can look natural while allowing food to be eaten normally. A dental bridge can be used if you have a few missing teeth or teeth missing on one side of your mouth.
For a dental bridge to be work, you need to have strong teeth either side of the gap. You may also lose healthy tooth structure, as the teeth either side of the gap will need to be ground down and shaped to create room for the crowns.
