DENTAL HEALTH ASSESSMENT

Your dentist will carry out a thorough assessment of your teeth, to spot any signs of decay or existing restorations, and to gauge the health of your gums. We’ll also take a full oral digital scan and photos if necessary.

X-RAYS AND DENTAL SCREENING

We’ll carry out an oral cancer screening as a precaution. We’re looking for anything unusual such as swelling, irritation that doesn’t go away naturally, or abnormal lumps and bumps. Spotting these symptoms early is the best form of defence and the screening will give you peace of mind.

ADVICE AND TREATMENT PLANNING

If your check-up reveals any dental issues that should be addressed with further treatment your dentist will put together a treatment plan. This will include cost estimates and a timeframe. If no further treatment is needed, we look forward to seeing you at your next routine check-up!

It’s usually recommended that patients have a dental check-up every 6 to 12 months. This allows us to monitor your oral health over time and helps us catch any minor issues before they turn into anything serious, and costly.

WHAT HAPPENS AT A DENTAL HYGIENE APPOINTMENT?

We recommend seeing our dental hygienist at Parrock Dental regularly, to keep your gums healthy and give your teeth a thorough, deep clean. We will assess the health of your gums and check for plaque build-up and gum disease, and usually carry out a deep clean and scale to remove plaque, so you leave our practice with a shiny, healthy smile.
